How much does it cost to work with you?

What does the cost include?
A: Depends on the job specifics. Typically, first draft of a logo design will include 5 different designs for your input, whereas one brochure design or website design will be presented, according to the specifications we’ve discussed. After your input, I will make changes and present the refined design for your approval. A second round of small changes is included in the original design quote. After two rounds of changes, any additional changes you request will be billed at my hourly rate. All this will be spelled out in the design bid proposal for your approval, before a deposit is taken or work begins.
Such and such charges less than you. Can you match them?
A: Selecting the right freelance graphic designer for your project is critical to getting the results your business demands. Creating or maintaining your company’s image, communicating clearly with your audience, completing work on deadline, and constructing printing files or a website correctly are just a few important factors in your company’s success. Should you decide that an investment in my quality graphic design work is money well spent, I would be pleased to work with you. I cannot price match because, truly, all things are not equal from one freelance graphic designer to the next.
How long will the project take to complete?
A: The time frame to complete your graphic design project will vary depending upon the details of the job. We’ll arrive at a mutually agreeable time frame before work begins. As you can read in my client testimonials, I have a reputation for reliable and timely delivery.
What’s involved in the design process?
A: Once we’ve agreed on the cost and deadline for your graphic design job, we’ll put our heads together to discuss more details. We may have an in-person meeting if you’re in the Los Angeles or Ventura County area, or you may provide details by phone or email. A deposit will be needed before work begins. I’ll present a first draft by email in PDF format. With your input, I’ll proceed to polish the design project into final form. Once you review this refined PDF, I’ll make your final changes. The final PDF will be emailed for your signoff. Once the balance of the amount due has been paid, I can then upload all necessary files to your server or your printer, or for website design, your site will go live.
I’ve never worked with a freelance graphic designer before. Can you tell me what to expect from one?

What artwork file types do you provide?
A: I’ll need the information from your printer as to what type of files they require before I start your graphic design job. No worries, I’ve yet to find a situation where I couldn’t provide what was needed! I work with all the major software applications, such as Quark XPress, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I also have a stellar reputation with printers as regards providing complete and correct file formats.
Can we talk on the telephone?
A: Absolutely! I would love to talk with you. I don’t post my phone number on the internet, but once we establish a working relationship, I’ll be happy to provide it. You’re welcome to call me between 8:30am to 5:00pm Pacific time, weekdays.
Can you help with printing?
A: You bet! I work with an awesome printer and he’d be happy to give you a price quote for printing your job.
How do you accept payment?
A: With most graphic design projects, I require a 50% down payment prior to starting the job. This is payable by your choice of methods: bank transfer, PayPal, or check, in U.S. dollars. Details are included in our agreement. The remaining 50% is due upon completion of the project, prior to release of files.
Will you feature my new design in your portfolio?
A: I include as many pieces in my portfolio as time permits!
Can you recommend any copywriters/photographers?
A: Yes! I work with some great talent. I’d be pleased to be working with them on a job for you, and happy to supply you with their contact information.
